The BBQ and Star Wars Blog
First, we will get to Star Wars. The Premium Format Leia Figures are due to arrive in our warehouse early next week so whoever has them on preorder will be notified by us. We will also have the regular version of Sideshow's 12 Inch Bib Fortuna Figure available for preorder this Friday. We spoke with Acme and our Anakin Character Key order is confirmed. We are going to get them in stock first and then put them up for sale on the site. It will be a limit of 1 per customer because we are not getting that many. Keep an eye on the Blog because I will announce before hand what day and time they will go live for sale.
Now on to the BBQ portion. As you all know I love BBQ. I'm leaving right after this blog post to go home and BBQ up some Roumanian Steaks the wife picked up today. A good and easy trick which I learned to tenderize a steak pretty quick is use Seltzer water. You only have to sit them in the Seltzer for about 30 minutes and if you cook them right, they are like butter. I personally like to marinate them as well for about an hour in a simple marinade made up of Olive Oil, a Little Lemon Juice, 1 Crushed Garlic Clove, Salt and Pepper and a couple of dashes of Paprika. Man O' Man, they are awesome. Anyway, that's the stuff for today. Have a great night and Happy BBQ to all.

So....how do you grill steaks right? The marinade sounds awesome!
Hi Darth Dug,
Here's my trick. Use wood chips on your BBQ instead of coal. It has a better flavor IMO. When you cook your steaks (depending on the cut), you want the flame at medium heat. Also, many people tend to flip them like burgers several times. From my experience, this does not cook the meat evenly like everyone thinks. You want to cook on a medium flame on one side until that side gets a good char mark from the grill. At that point (again, it depends on the cut). Let's use a London Broil for example, I will make a small cut in the steak to see if I have a nice pink color inside (I like them medium myself). If you have a pink color (not red), then you flip the steak over and cook it for a couple of minutes on the other side. Basically until you get a grey color. Alot of people tend to constantly flip the steaks over and over again. Which usually makes the steak turn in to shoe leather. If you slow cook them (on thicker cuts especially), it will cook evenly and also keep the meat inside juicy and tender. That's basically it. If you have any other questions, let me know.
Thanks,
Mike
OK, you've made me now VERY hungry.
LOL. I'm still full from yesterday. I pigged out and ate 4 steaks last night. I felt like Jabba. LOL.
